In this edition of Barges, we continue to celebrate the stories behind the names carried by our vessels - na mes that reflect the values, legacy, and spirit of our company.
One of the most meaningful names in our fleet belongs to our very first barge: Doña Deniz, named in honor of Deniz del Cid Candanedo de Arosemena-the loving, wise, and strong woman who stood beside our founder as both partner and pillar.
More than 20 years ago, this barge was brought to Panama to support the country’s growing maritime and construction needs. Since then, Doña Deniz has played a vital role in countless operations, from salvage and construction to heavy cargo transportation. Her enduring service is a testament to the strength and grace of the woman whose name she carries.
We also proudly recognize Rafael Enrique Arosemena 111, a name that marks a major milestone in our fleet. As the first barge in our company to exceed 4,000 tons of capacity, she stood for many years as the largest of her kind in Panama.
Named after our brother, this barge has supported critica! projects in mining, energy, logistics, and marine infrastructure across Latin America. Her impact mirrors Rafael’s own contributions: solid, strategic, and forward-looking.
